There is a quiet stretch in the life of most skincare that nobody talks about. It sits. In a warehouse, then a distribution centre, then a shop shelf, then a bathroom cabinet. Months pass. Sometimes more than a year.

Nothing dramatic happens in that time. That is rather the point. The change is slow, invisible, and it is chemistry doing exactly what chemistry does.

Air is the first thing

Most of the ingredients people buy skincare for are reactive by nature. That reactivity is the whole appeal, it is what lets an ingredient do something once it meets your skin. But a molecule willing to react with your skin is also willing to react with oxygen.

Vitamin C derivatives are the classic example. So are many plant oils, which is why a neglected bottle of oil eventually smells faintly of crayons. That smell is oxidation. In a formula, the same process happens without announcing itself.

Then light, then warmth

Light adds energy, and energy accelerates everything above. Warmth does the same. A jar on a sunlit bathroom shelf is a small, slow reactor.

This is why serious formulas arrive in opaque or tinted packaging, and why airless pumps exist. Good packaging buys time. It does not stop the clock.

Which brings us to the point

You cannot make chemistry stand still. What you can do is shorten the wait.

That is the reasoning behind how we work. Rather than blending a large batch and letting it age its way through a supply chain, we blend in smaller runs, closer to the moment a bottle is actually going to be used.

It is a less convenient way to run a beauty brand. We think it is the honest one.
