Good skincare does not need to be complicated. The most useful routine is one you can follow consistently, with a few well-chosen steps that support how your skin feels today.

As a simple starting point, think in this order: cleanse, treat, moisturise and protect. You can adjust the textures and treatments depending on whether your skin feels dry, oily, combination, mature or easily unsettled.

Below are gentle starting points using selected products from The P.M. range. Your skin is individual, so introduce new products gradually and always follow the directions on the product page.

The essential routine

Morning

  1. Cleanse. Use a cleanser to refresh the skin and remove overnight buildup.
  2. Treat. Apply a hydrating or targeted serum if your skin needs one.
  3. Moisturise. Choose a texture that leaves your skin comfortable, never tight or heavy.
  4. Protect. Finish with broad-spectrum sunscreen and reapply as needed during the day.

Evening

  1. Cleanse. Remove sunscreen, makeup and daily impurities without scrubbing aggressively.
  2. Treat. Use one targeted serum or exfoliating step, not everything at once.
  3. Moisturise. Support the skin overnight with a nourishing cream suited to your skin's feel.

For dry or dehydrated skin

Dry skin often feels tight, rough or less comfortable after cleansing. Dehydrated skin can feel tight while also looking dull or showing fine lines more visibly. In both cases, focus on gentle cleansing, water-binding ingredients and a nourishing finish.

Step 1: Cleanse without overdoing it

Start with the Brightening Gel Cleanser – Aloe Vera & Blackberry Extract. Use lukewarm water and avoid cleansing more often than your skin needs.

Step 2: Layer hydration

Apply the Skin Flora Jelly – Skin Barrier Serum with Hyaluronic Acid to support a fresh, hydrated feel. Follow with the Multi-Peptide Face Cream – Hyaluronic Acid & Sodium PCA or the Soft Renewal Day Cream – Hyaluronic Acid & Marine Active, depending on whether you prefer a richer or lighter finish.

Step 3: Protect during the day

Finish with the Tinted Sunscreen SPF30 – Mineral, with Sea Buckthorn & Hyaluronic Acid or the Sunscreen Stick SPF50, Non-tinted. Sunscreen is an important part of every morning routine, whatever your skin type.

Optional comfort step

Use the Hydrating Hydrogel Eye Patches – Glycerin & Panthenol when the eye area feels in need of a little extra hydration.

For oily or combination skin

Oily or combination skin can benefit from balance rather than over-cleansing. Removing too much oil can leave skin feeling uncomfortable, which may make your routine harder to maintain. Keep the base simple and add targeted treatments gradually.

Step 1: Cleanse

Use the Brightening Gel Cleanser – Aloe Vera & Blackberry Extract to remove daily impurities and leave skin feeling refreshed.

Step 2: Exfoliate carefully

Introduce the Glycolic Acid Exfoliating Toner – 5% AHA for Brighter Skin one or two evenings per week to begin. Do not use it on the same evening as another strong exfoliating treatment, and stop if your skin feels stinging, raw or persistently irritated.

Step 3: Keep hydration light

On nights when you are not exfoliating, use the Skin Flora Jelly or the Soft Lift Moisturiser – Bidens Pilosa Extract, choosing the texture that feels most comfortable. Hydration is still essential, even when your skin becomes shiny during the day.

Step 4: Protect every morning

Use the Tinted Sunscreen SPF30 – Mineral, with Sea Buckthorn & Hyaluronic Acid or the Sunscreen Stick SPF50, Non-tinted. A consistent SPF step helps protect the appearance of an even skin tone.

For mature skin

Mature skin is not a problem to fix. It is skin with changing needs, often including less natural moisture, a desire for more cushioning and a focus on maintaining a smooth, comfortable, luminous appearance.

Step 1: Cleanse gently

Begin with the Brightening Gel Cleanser, using a light touch and lukewarm water. If your skin feels tight afterwards, reduce the amount or frequency rather than scrubbing harder.

Step 2: Support hydration and smoothness

Apply the Skin Flora Jelly for a hydrated feel, then follow with the Soft Renewal Day Cream – Hyaluronic Acid & Marine Active or the Multi-Peptide Face Cream – Hyaluronic Acid & Sodium PCA.

Step 3: Give the eye area extra care

Use the Soft Lift Eye Serum – Retinol Alternative with 2% Bidens Pilosa & Hyaluronic Acid as directed, applying gently around the eye area and avoiding direct contact with the eyes.

Step 4: Protect and replenish

In the morning, finish with the Tinted Sunscreen SPF30 or Sunscreen Stick SPF50. In the evening, keep the routine comfortable and consistent rather than layering multiple strong treatments.

When your skin feels sensitive

Keep things simple. Use fewer products, avoid introducing several new ingredients at the same time and pause exfoliating acids until your skin feels settled. Patch test new products when possible, and discontinue use if you experience persistent discomfort.

How to build your routine slowly

  • Start with cleanser, moisturiser and sunscreen.
  • Add one serum at a time and give your skin time to adjust.
  • Introduce exfoliating acids gradually, beginning once or twice a week.
  • Do not combine multiple intensive treatments in the same routine unless you already know your skin tolerates them.
  • Use sunscreen every morning and follow the product directions for reapplication.

A note from The P.M.

The best routine is not the longest one. It is the one that makes your skin feel comfortable and cared for, and that fits naturally into your life. If you have a diagnosed skin condition, a significant reaction or questions about using active ingredients, speak with a qualified healthcare professional.
