Anyone paying attention will spot the tension. If freshness matters because formulas change over time, then our formulas change over time too. So how long does a P.M. product actually last?

Here is the honest answer.

Unopened

Most THE P.M. products have a general shelf life of 2 years from the date of production. When you receive your products, you can expect them to have no less than a 6-month validity period. However, on average, the products will have a validity period ranging from 12 to 24 months.

Once opened

Once opened, THE P.M. products have a validity period that ranges from 3 to 24 months. It's essential to note that the expiration date is also listed on the packaging, providing you with a clear guideline on the product's usability.

Opening a product introduces air and, inevitably, a little of the outside world. The clock speeds up slightly from that moment. This is true of all skincare, ours included.

How to give it the best chance

  • Keep it out of direct sunlight. A closed cabinet beats a windowsill.
  • Avoid heat. A bathroom that steams up daily is not the kindest home for an active formula.
  • Close it properly. Most oxidation happens through a lid left loose.
  • Use clean hands or the applicator provided.

When to let it go

Trust your senses. A noticeable shift in colour, a thinner or grainier texture, or a smell that has turned sharp or faintly metallic all suggest a formula has moved past its best. None of these are dangerous. They simply mean it is no longer doing what you paid for.
